Want to Apply for the 2014 Young Aviator Program?

After discussing this program with your parents--and hopefully getting their approval-- the next easy step is to apply. Just click on Application, and the form will come up. Then, fill it out, print it and mail it in. Also, include a check for $25.00 addressed to Young Aviators. It will help cover our interviewing and processing costs and verify that both you and your parents are committed. Our address: Young Aviators, 3239 North Green Bay Road, Racine, WI 53404. When your application is received (make sure we have it no later than May 10, 2014) we will send you a confirming e-mail message. Later we'll contact you to schedule an interview.

It is our procedure to interview all applicants and their parents. We have found that students ages 14 - 17 are usually the best fit for our program. If you are younger than 14 --and too small to see over the instrument panel-- sitting on a phone book is just not the right answer! Where you live can also be a key issue. Some of our local donors prefer that we only select students from the Racine and/or the Southeastern Wisconsin area. We respect that but we have made a few exceptions.

In addition, be aware that our program is limited to just twelve students. This means that competition for "each seat" will be intense. It also means that what and how you write when filling out your application...and how you interview...will be very important. So try hard and do your best. It will count.

"What's it going to cost me?" a parental voice was heard to say.

Sure, the first questions parents often ask is "How Much?" And the answer is "It Depends!" Here's why.

It will cost us roughly $34,000.00 to run our program in 2014. Divide that by 12, the number of kids we can accept, and the cost per student turns out to be $2800.00, which we know is a lot more than most families can afford.

It has always been one of our main goals is to keep our program affordable. So how do we do that? Well, we're a group of old aviators and we spend much of our time each year searching for generous donors and supporters to provide the necessary funds to keep our program alive and thriving. Thankfully, our efforts have continued to pay off.

We believe, too, that our tuition fee, $795.00, is reasonable and affordable to many families. It also means that if your application is accepted you will automatically receive a $2000.00 "scholarship" to attend.

For families that find the $795.00 tuition fee to be a bit out of reach, financial assistance is available. A Financial Assistance Form is also available. Just click aid form.

2014 will be our seventh year. During that time we have learned from our graduates that our community and our schools are producing outstanding boys and girls. We see them every year. We're convinced that our teens represent more than just "potential." We see them to be clearly on track to be among tomorrow's leaders in virtually every career field and line of work, including physicians, business professionals, engineers, scientists and teachers. Sound good to you? Young Aviators can help.
